What Our Patients Say
Most People Are Treating the Wrong Thing
Hair loss is not one condition — it’s many. Androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, scarring alopecia, alopecia areata — each requires a completely different treatment. Yet most people self-diagnose, buy products online, and spend months — sometimes years — on the wrong solution.
Permanent · Routinely missed
The problem isn’t access to treatment. It’s access to diagnosis.

Built by a Specialist. Born from Clinical Reality.
HairLoupe was created by Uliana Nicholls — hair loss specialist and founder of Hair Loss London, a multi-award winning trichology clinic in Chelsea, London.
At Hair Loss London, we don’t just diagnose — we compound. Every medication is formulated in-house, tailored to each individual patient, using the most current clinical evidence and the most innovative treatment protocols available. Patients travel from the United States, Asia, the Middle East and Europe specifically to access this level of specialist care.
But one problem kept returning.
Time and again, young women would arrive at the clinic having spent years treating what they believed was androgenetic alopecia. Minoxidil. DHT blockers. Supplements. Laser devices. All of it pursued faithfully, on the basis of a self-diagnosis or an assessment made without proper scalp imaging.
And when we looked — really looked, with clinical-grade trichoscopy — the diagnosis was something else entirely.
Scarring alopecia.
A condition where hair follicles are being systematically destroyed by inflammation. Where the window for intervention is narrow. Where every month of incorrect treatment is a month of irreversible damage. These were not rare cases. They were a pattern. Young women, often in their twenties and thirties, whose condition was entirely manageable — if only it had been seen in time.
At the same time, demand for remote consultations was growing. Patients who had travelled internationally needed follow-up care. Patients across the UK wanted specialist input without the journey to Chelsea. But remote diagnosis had a fundamental clinical problem: you cannot assess a scalp from a standard photograph. The resolution, the magnification, the follicular detail — none of it is there.
HairLoupe was the answer.
